Hi everyone. This has been one hell of a past few days. But before we get into a full-blown story, the video has been uploaded to my JsXanatos youtube account. A LOT of drama went into making this video (fiming choreographed sequences in Left 4 Dead didn’t help and recording a song for it), but that’s all behind us now.

A Hard Game’s Night – Left 4 Dead (HD)
A Hard Game’s Night – music video parody of The Beatles’ Hard Day’s Night song and opening title sequence from the movie of the same name.
It’s our first actual video in a LONG time that’s been posted on JsXanatos. It was meant to be a Machinima.com release, however, the question of the song being a true, full-blown ‘parody’ was in question since it’s such a grey area. To be a true parody, it would have to “make fun of, comment on, or critique the original work.” This does not exactly do that, and how could you make fun of the Beatles? Despite the fact that the song sounds so different and has different lyrics, the idea that it does not make fun of the original does not make it a parody, supposedly. There was also a lot of quarreling over the song – hope you like what’s in the final product.
Secondly, something fucking CRAZY happened. The video was on the machinima.com channel for about twenty minutes before the decision was made to take it down from there, and on the exact same day, a video was uploaded to the popular ‘BarelyPolitical’ channel called “Left 4 Dead Beatles”. Two brand new videos uploaded on the exact same day (July 29th) by two different authors with ideas for the same concept, yet two totally different videos content wise. I couldn’t fucking believe it. Crazy!
On a site related note, the dead links in the Audio Downloads section are slowly but surely being all fixed.

Don’t want to offend you, but I didn’t like it. I think the only special thing was lyrics. The video itself meant nothing to me, really. But still, some good work.

This movie is like your video style. Good movie tought, but it’s not like you. How about Source Mod todd with players screaming in the microphones so it’s sounds horrible? That’s what I miss here, fellows. ;P

It was nice, but it wasn’t very up to par with what you’ve been known to put out. No offense, but stick to comedy videos. Most of us love you for the GMan Squad and Source Mod Todd videos. You gotta try different yes, but even the best keep to what works for them…

I didn’t like this video. I generally don’t like musicals.
You should work on something like Dr Strangeman again. It was an excellent comedy with lots of action, extremely entertaining.
It could be something based on TF2 with industrial espionage and lots of cool scenes in places such as control rooms as seen in the game. It would be great in my opinion.

As a fan of the Janus Syndicate, I am genuinely disappointed. I expected something that is a step forward for the art of Machinema, as all of your videos have been so far, but this seemed like a step backwards to the 3 minute game play set to music thing that people have been doing for practically as long as machinema has been around.
You guys should remember that you have fans that follow you, so if you’re going to experiment you have to make sure that it isn’t a 3 minute video that took a month and a half to spit out, especially when it’s not a very original concept.

Yeah it was a good video, not what i’m used to watching from you but that aint a bad thing, it’s good to see you branching out a bit further,Experimentation is a good thing, at least that way you do not stagnate.
Hope to see your next journey into the unknown, or with something you have set up, but in a new direction or chapter
